Registration Questions

When is the deadline to register?

Early registration ends March 26, and regular registration ends April 30. On-site registration will be available, however we encourage you to register early to save money and reserve your spot. The door price will be $300 regardless of CFSC membership.  Registration fees & deadlines

I am having problems with online registration. What should I do?

How can I register with a purchase order?

To register with a purchase order, please use our online registration system which will create an invoice for check payment.  Payment must be received by March 26 for the early registration rate, or by April 30 for the regular registration rate.  Our Tax ID # is 06-1495135.  If you need further assistance to complete your purchase order, please contact Emily at (503) 954-2970, emily@foodsecurity.org.

I need financial assistance to attend. Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, we do offer scholarships, however the deadline to apply has already passed (March 19).

You can also raise funds for your trip by requesting friends, family, community groups, and others to sponsor you.  Download the Fundraising Packet to learn more.

Is there a student rate?

No, we do not offer a student rate.  Please apply for a scholarship if you need financial assistance.

There are also two contests for youth; winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the conference.

Can I register for just one day?

No, we are not offering single-day rates.  To attend the conference you must register for the whole event.  Consider registering for the full conference as a donation.  You may register for the following events separately:

I am a workshop presenter. Do I need to register?

Every presenter must register so that we know when to expect you and how to reach you if we have any questions. You will receive an email with registration instructions and a discount code to use during online registration. If you have not received an email from us by March 12, please contact emily@foodsecurity.org

Can I sign up for a Field Trip, Short Course, the Great Lakes Networking Session or Local Foods Reception if I’m not participating in the main conference?

Yes. During online registration, select “Events Only” for Registration Type, and then on the Events page, indicate which event(s) you plan to attend.

I need to cancel – what is your cancellation policy?

No refunds for cancellations are possible after April 30. No exceptions. Refunds requested prior to April 30 will be charged a $50 refund fee. Please contact emily@foodsecurity.org to request a refund or notify us of a change in your plans.

Are you still accepting workshop proposals?

No.  However we are accepting workshop proposals for the CFSC Annual Conference in October.  Learn More

I am looking for a roommate or ride. How can I reach others going to the conference who might be able to help?

You can use the online bulletin board to coordinate rides, room sharing, and other logistics with other conference attendees.

Are there tables available for me to display information about my group/company?

Yes, we will be offering an Exhibit Hall throughout the conference.  Please go to the Exhibitor Information page to learn more and sign up for a table.

How can I get a press pass for the conference?

Please fill out the Press Pass Request Form and return it to emily@foodsecurity.org. Once approved, we will send you information on how to register as a member of the press.

Can I volunteer at the conference?

Our volunteer slots fill up very fast.  To apply, please go to the Scholarships page.

Will there be childcare at the conference?

No, however we would be happy to refer you to some childcare options in the area. Please contact aleta@foodsecurity.org for referrals.

Can I receive Continuing Education Credits for attending the conference?

We can offer 6 SNA Certification Continuing Education Units for attending all four workshop sessions.

Will recordings of the conference be available after the conference?

We plan to film some workshops, plenaries and keynote lectures which will be posted online after the conference.
