The National Farm to School Network is hosting a networking day for people involved or interested in farm to school in the Great Lake region. Network with other farm to school advocates, learn about available resources in the region and beyond, and most importantly – have a fun, social and relaxing time together!
Space is limited, first come first serve. Click the Register Now button to register for this event alone or for the entire conference.
A Morning of Networking Across the Great Lakes Region
8:30 am – 12:00 pm
We will start our day gathering together over tea and coffee. We will then move into an experiential networking session, facilitated by Local Matters, a non-profit from Columbus, Ohio. Come away with new visioning, organizing and networking tools while simultaneously integrating with other Great Lakes farm to school advocates for a morning of cross pollination across the region.
Take Me Out to the Ball Game!
1:00 – 4:00 pm
Our Great Lakes group will then head over to the nearby Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, for a Local Foods dedicated day at the game! We will have a locally inspired lunch and enjoy the baseball game together. Tickets and lunch are free to those who participated in the morning session.
Great Lakes Reception
6:00 – 8:00 pm
In the evening we will reconvene at the Gleaner’s Community Food Bank for a celebration of our region’s diversity of local fare. Along with our Great Lakes friends, we will also have the opportunity to mingle with the National and Regional Farm to School Network staff members from across the country.
