School Garden Support Organizations Unite!

Strengthening the Movement for Sustaining Regional-Based School Garden Programs

$30 NOTE: This event is open to all conference registrants and requires an additional registration – please register at Breakfast and snacks will be provided.

At no other time in the school garden movement have there been so many support organizations for school garden development. Across the nation foundations, non-profit, school district, state, and university programs are working to institutionalize school gardens in their regions. Join school garden support organizations from across the nation to discuss strategies for building and maintaining multiple gardens, creating sustainable funding streams, program assessment and evaluation, school integration, and training school garden educators.

This event is hosted by the National School Garden Network, a professional network comprised of organizations and individuals that support multiple school garden programs at a regional, school district, or state level.

Hop Head Beer Tours

Bike Tour: 4:30PM – 8:00PM | $50 tour, $23 bike rental

Looking for some local fun on Thursday evening before the official conference begins? Madison is a great destination for beer connoisseurs – so we’ve coordinated two special Madison brewery tours through local tour company, Hop Head Tours. Our local planning committee has pre-approved the tours and the brews, so we know you won’t be disappointed! Concerts on the Rooftop

Thursday, June 2

Gates open at 5:30pm | Bars open 6pm
Concerts on the Rooftop offer a wonderful opportunity for networking after work, or kicking back with friends and family. Feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair; seating on the rooftop is limited. The Lake Vista Cafe will be open for your enjoyment. Picnic baskets are welcome. Sorry, no carry in alcohol.  Proudly serving Great Dane beer, Monona Terrace offers a selection of beverages and casual gourmet faire on the rooftop. Learn more here.

Regional networking sessions provide a great opportunity to meet new people, and build relationships to fuel the farm to cafeteria initiatives in your state and region. Open Forum

Open Forum is a perennial favorite at our conference. Open Forum provides the opportunity for you to create the discussion group you want at the conference.

Vote for the questions/discussion topics you’d like to see during Open Forum in our electronic guide!

We will use your input to determine the most popular and urgent topics for discussion. These topics will become the focus of each Open Forum session. Deadline for submitting your topic (or voting on one already submitted) is 12:45pm on Saturday, June 4th.

After topics have been tallied and organized, topics and room locations will be communicated to you at the registration desk and via the electronic guide. Thank you for participating and tailoring this conference to better meet your needs!
